Addressing the Issues

Global inequality and consumption are both increasing, due to the ever-increasing and intensifying strain on limited natural resources worldwide, our global footprint is unsustainable. As a consequence, nature is harmed and human well-being is impacted by environmental degradation, biodiversity loss, and climate change.

What type of society do we want to sustain? Social policies on welfare institutions have a long history in developing countries, they are deeply embedded and reliant upon a society marked by productivism, overconsumption and economic growth. Rethinking and reorganising green social policies and welfare social sustainability is a crucial but substantial challenge.
